About Us

The Beginning

The Dance Dome opened its doors in 2018 as a large night club. Soon after opening, we decided to also include dance instruction as part of our regular operation. Today, we are soley dedicated to maintaining regular class schedules for dance instruction. The styles we teach include Ballroom, Jazz/Ballet, Hip Hop, Line Dancing and more. Each dance class is taught by a skilled dance instructor with the knowledge and skill-level to teach the appropriate steps to each specific dance style.

Heidrun Treutner-Lind

All classes are supervised by Heidrun Treutner-Lind. As a teenager, Heidrun was very active in many sports and dance. In 1980, she began a three year education to become a state certified physical education (PhysEd) teacher in Germany. She then completed another three years of training in two dance academies in Germany to become a professional, certified dance instructor. Heidrun worked in a large German dance company for the next seven years where she taught Latin, Ballroom (International Dance Program) and Jazz dance for all ages, as well as performance and competition troupes, aerobics, and various exercise classes. After seven years of gathering valuable experience she opened her own dance school and worked also in a fitness studio as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer for fitness and weights.

Performances and Competitions

She then opened a second dance school in Germany and has managed her own dance studio since 1992. Heidrun taught Latin, Ballroom, Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, Boogie-Woogie, Argentine Tango, Line Dance, Jazz Dance, Hip-Hop, children dance and different performance and competition-troupes. Heidrun and her teams also appeared at many events where they performed jazz dance and hip-hop. In addition, her dance troupes took part in many dance championships. Through her work as a choreographer and trainer, she achieved, among other titles, German Vice Master status. She organized, managed, and moderated her dance events and organized and managed dance parties for seniors, adults and teenagers on a regular base.

Worldwide Experience

In 2006, Heidrun sold her dance school in Germany and moved to Canada to open her dance studio in Nova Scotia. For 11 years, she taught the International Dance Program which includes 11 dances. She also taught Salsa, Merenque, Mambo, Line Dancing, Hip Hop, and Dance Fitness classes. She was hired in a fitness studio as manager for the weight room, personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She taught dance classes at elementary, junior and senior high schools.

Current

In 2017, Heidrun moved to Florida to open a Dance School in Palm City to offer dance, fitness, and a place for all ages to meet, socialize, relax and to have fun. Read more about Heidrun Treutner-Lind at Dance & Fun»
